Yangshuo is home to some of the most beautiful natural sceneries. To take full advantage of this, there are many different companies that offer a variety of travel packages around Yangshuo. Listed below are some of the most popular ways of seeing Yangshuo.
Organized tours
Due to Yangshuo’s natural beauty, many different travel companies have offices in town. Some of them are listed below.
My Journey (www.myjourney-asia.com)
Intrepid travel (www.intrepidtravel.com)
Imaginative traveller (www.imaginative-traveller.com)
Cycling
Bike Asia (www.bikeasia.com) is the company we recommend for cycling tours around Yangshuo and also the rest of Asia. The most popular way to see Yangshuo is by taking a bike ride around some of the karst formations on one of the many cycling tracks around town. Yangshuo is not a very large town, so to cycle around it in one day is not a big task. But in this time, you will see so much beauty in the natural surroundings. “If you haven’t biked Yangshuo, you haven’t done Yangshuo” is a popular motto for the bike rental companies that are spread out all over town. You can rent a bike from as little as 5 Yuan per day. You can find many ladies that are willing to guide you around these sights. They are usually located around the top of West Street.
Mountain climbing and cross country trekking
Due to Yangshuo’s many natural karst formations, there are many climbing adventure shops around the town. With experienced climbing guides to take you up mountain faces ranging from beginner to extreme, they are bound to have something for everyone. Many of these companies will also offer hikes through the countryside. This is a great way for the more intrepid explorer to see Yangshuo as you pass through the mountains and old villages until you end up back in Yangshuo. We recommend China Climb (www.chinaclimb.com) for any of these activities.
Bamboo raft drifting
Bamboo raft drifting is a fun way to see some of the most beautiful spots in Yangshuo. The Xingping – Yangdi scenic area has been inspiration for generations of writers and painters from all over China. The Yulong (Dragon) river valley is said to rival this area in beauty. With two valleys to explore (both can also be done on foot or bike) you will have no problem in filling your day with a relaxing, but exciting time. The Xingping – Yangdi area is also the picture you will find on a twenty Yuan note and you pass through it on the way down the river from Guilin on the large ferries.
