The villages in the vicinity of Yangshuo are best visited on market day, which operate roughly on a three-day, monthly cycle. Thus, market take place every third day starting on the first of the month for Yangdi and Baish, on the second of the month for Fuli and Putao, and every third day starting on the of the month for Yangshuo and Xingping. However, after the market the next one is four days, not three, but this doesn't happen in all towns. You can ask the receptionists in hotel or bar if you are still confused. You can get many local folks and foods on the markets. Don't forget to choose some as souvenirs.
