On the way to Guilin, there is a theme park of sorts where you can spend the day learning all that Yangshuo used to be like. Peach blossoms everywhere, tribal dances and village 'war cries' are all displayed by these people as you take a small barge down the little river.  When you get off, you will be taken for a walk through shops where you can actually see people making statues from wood, hand-crafted neckties and block printing.  All that you see is also for sale but there is never any pressure to buy anything.  Even though the guides will speak only 1 or 2 words of English at the most, this is a great way to spend the day if you are not an early riser and don't want to lose the amazing photo opportunity.
