Culture Introduction of Yangshuo

Yangshuo is home to many ethnic minority groups of Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao. With a history more than 1400 years, they have formed folk customs with colorful national or local features. Therefore, nowadays Yangshuo becomes a interesting destination to many tourists. And there are old folk customs and news ones. Take some for examples, the old ones as follows: Spring Festival (Chun Jie), Lantern Festival (Yuan Xiao Jie), Tomb-sweeping Day (Qing Ming Jie) etc. And the new ones as follows: Fishing Lights Festival (Yu Huo Jie), Beer Festival (Pi Jiu Jie) etc. These have developed the excellent culture and moral concepts of the Chinese nation. Many of them have their unique styles, so which makes them more mysterious and attractive.

Except the interesting traditional customs above, the traditional dishes and snacks are well-known all over the world. Because of their dainty appearance and uniqueness, they have got more and more  high praise. Such as Beer Fish, Niang Dishes and Guilin Rice Noodles have been composed into the local songs and poems, spreading over every corner.

Of course, except the all above, there are many special local products and handcrafts. Such as Shatian Pomelo, Kumquat, Dried persimmon, Chinese Chestnut, Talcum, Silk, Wax Printing, Drawing fan, Xiuqiu (a small ball of love popular in Zhuang ethnic group), Paintings and Calligraphy, Pottery with antique flavors etc. These consist the indispensable parts of the mysterious and attractive cultures, show another beautiful sides of Yangshuo county.

As many tourists say: “You will never know how beautiful and attractive it is if you haven’t been to Yangshuo. It’s the most interest of place under the heaven.” There is no doubt about that Yangshuo is worth taking time to visit and explorer the cultures.
