

Snail Hill
One of the most renowned scenic spots along the Li River, Snail Hill is located 1 km on the south of Xingping Town. The stratiform veins that twist up from the bottom to the top make hill look like a big snail. Hence the name ‘Snail Hill’. Not far from Snail Hill, there is Cave named “Snail cave”, derived from the hill. This cave has two parts, the bigger one in the east and the smaller one in the west. Many shapes of Stalactites are in it, some resemble birds and beasts, some resemble fruits and flowers. The most amazing sights are the three snail stones which are hanging upside down. One is as white as snow, one is as dark as black lacquer and the other is as green as emerald. Additionally, there is a Tengjiao Nunnery, was originally built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Every year, on 3rd of the 3rd lunar month, 6th of the 6th lunar month and 9th of the 9th lunar month, people around will come here to pray for good luck.
